Dedicated to my friends, my roommates, my 2 years with you guys and my four years with you.
At last, we were together again, chatting about our past, our actuality and our future.
Facing us is a whole new world - China Academy of Science, Washington University in St. Louis, East campus of Sun Yat-Sen University and finally Communication Bank of China. However, our brotherhood remains - though we quarreled with each other, we fought with each other - we were dedicated to each other, we helped each other, we love each other.
I still remember the day when I initially stepped in the dorm in Zhuhai where we lived for 3 weeks, I saw a lot of people. I did not know who were the students and who were the parents. I came up with an idea that I would spend some years with some senior guys, a situation similar to some news report I read before. Though it turned out to be totally insane to have thought about that, it still shocked me by presenting some young men with such unsophisticated and bumpkin outfit, pretty much weird as I saw with a Cantonese eye. This was almost the first time I came into touch with people from the north of the country where the fashion was thousands of miles from us.
During the time of martial training, we held an old-fashion film camera to record the break of dawn, you guys played my computer to death and I got $100 for my broken hard-drive (which I regret I did) and so many weird things just went on.
4 years later, everything has changed - Xiao, from a peasants' family, has become a white-collar worker, keeping on talking with the mobile phone and snapping every precious moment with a digital camera ; Zifeng, whose family raised pigs for living is now a grad student under the instruction of a member of Chinese Academy of Science in our mother school, managing his work with a latest lap-top; Youan the Meat, still pursuing his dream in paleontology, will join the Chinese Academy of Science; me, formerly a sorta faddish boy would join the Washington Univ. for an immunology Ph.D. I dare not imagine how much Sun Yat-sen University changed our lifes, especially those dragging their legs outta the mountains.
Best of luck, my buddies!
